From the Land of the Morning Calm...Hello!!!

Well with it being hot and humid, what else better to do than make the kids walk a few miles and go on our first sightseeing adventure in Seoul, South Korea.  We walked off base, jumped onto two different subway trains and headed off to a district known as Insa Cultural District.

Kids are standing into the entry-way into the traditional home that is seen below.  This now functions as a restaurant and tea house.

It is amazing to see the 'old mixed with the new' as seen by this historic building in the center of an intersection standing in front of new buildings.  We walked by this on our way to Gyeong Bok Gung Palace.

Gate to Gyeong Bok Gung Palace where the below guards are standing watch.  They have a changing of the guards every hour.

Once passing through the guards, if you look up, you will see this on the ceiling.  This is only a portion.

Secondary gate prior to entry into the palace grounds.
